Urban excellence from Scott
Scott have a great heritage in both road bikes and mountain bikes. They have also been making electric bikes for longer than many other brands. We love the Scott brand and this is our 5th season with them.
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 10 is a sleek and stylish unisex town bike. The wide step-through frame makes for easy mounting / dismounting and the Bosch drive will give you all the assistance you need.
New Gen Bosch Performance Line motor
The Sub Tour eRide 10 bike has the new Bosch PerformanceLine motor. It delivers up to 65Nm of torque, just when you need it most. But compared to the previous incarnation, when you don’t need the motor there is no internal resistance to affect you pedaling to your heart’s content. There are 4 levels of selectable assistance via the Purion control on the handlebars. The top level – Turbo, will add up to 300% of your effort to help you up even the toughest slopes. The new motor is quieter and lighter and more responsive and is physically smaller than the previous generation.
The Bosch PowerTube has been around for a couple of years now. It weighs in at just 2.8kg and is one of the lightest batteries on the market, further reducing its impact on the overall feel of the bike. Despite its modest design, it still packs impressive capacity – the 500Wh on offer should be more than enough to power you through even the most demanding of rides. The battery is easy to remove and insert, popping out of the frame when unlocked. It can be charged on or off the bike.
The battery will give you a range of about 50 miles. This is not a ‘best case’ but is the average mileage that you should expect from the battery assuming mixed use of the levels of assist and a varying terrain.
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 10 has 10-speed Shimano Deore gears with 11-34 tooth cassette. The brakes are Shimano hydraulic disc BR-M200 – very efficient and reliable. The handlebar stem is adjustable and the bike also features rack, mudguards, an integrated frame lock and bright LED lights that run from the main battery.
The Scott Sub Tour eRide 10 is a very smart looking urban e-bike. It tough Schwalbe 50c tyres will handle any surface and because they are relatively wide they make for a very comfortable ride.
We think this is a great looking bike. Scott are very good at producing stylish looking bikes and they don’t skimp on the components. For a bike with the latest Bosch motor and a 500 watt hour capacity battery this represents great value.
