Scott’s Purple Hardtail
Scott’s Contessa models are aimed at women cyclists. The difference to the other models though is just the colour. The sizings, geometry and all other aspects of the bikes are exactly the same. The male version of this bike, if you want to think of it like that is the e-scale 730.
Bosch Drive System
While it is ‘entry level’ it is certainly no slouch and with some other brands it certainly would not be entry level. It has everything that you need: the Bosch Performance line CX motor and the biggest capacity battery – i.e. 500 watt hours. It also has very good components. Scott simply do not put poor components on their bikes.
The E-Contessa is agile and nimble, built with rider control in mind, a slightly lower crossbar and weighing in at only 21.1kg, but it’s no pushover. The massive power of the Bosch Performance Line CX motor and huge 500wh battery means this bike is not only quick and precise at corners, but lightning fast in a straight line too.
We love the Performance Line CX motor for its astonishing responsiveness, immediately providing support exactly proportional to whatever power you give from the moment you begin your cycle. This technology eliminates the difficulty of starting on inclines, and means you can enjoy a faster, more confident ride without any loss of control. Four levels of assistance give you the option of tailoring each moment of your ride quickly and easily, and with a maximum assistance level of 300%, there’s plenty of power to experiment with.
High Quality Components
With agility and control at its heart the E-Contessa is built with high quality components to maximize flexibility. The groupset is Sram NX1 with 11 gears on the cassette including a 42 tooth first gear. Rock Shox Recon suspension keeps the ride comfortable with 120 mm of travel.
A tightly mixed bag of high quality features, the E-Contessa is in every way a brilliant entry to Scott’s line of electric mountain bikes. Flexible and powerful, this is a great bike at £
2,899 £2,799, and one you’ll be itching to get back onto at the end of every ride.
