Updated Moustache run around for 2019
The Samedi 28 is one of Moustache’s most popular bikes. For 2019 it has been redesigned with the main change being the handle bars. These are Moustache’s own special design that make for a relaxed, comfortable, upright position. As with all the Moustache bikes it is very stylish, practical and beautifully made.
This one is the ‘open’ version, with a lower cross bar. We can also supply the bike in the non open style – i.e with a higher cross bar.
The Electric Parts
The motor on the Samedi 28.2 has the Bosch Performance Line motor. This delivers more assistance (torque) than the Active Line motor found on the 28.1.
The battery is the 500 watt hour battery – the largest capacity Bosch battery, capable of up to around 80 miles and realistically, given different levels of assistance and varying terrain about 50 to 60 miles. Many factors affect your range but we can give you a better idea of what’s possible if you come to shop and let us know what sort of riding you’ll be doing.
The display on the bike is the Purion. This combines the controls for the bike (i.e. where you control the amount of assistance) and the display in one unit. It is very easy to use and the digits are large and clear.
This bike is the ‘open’ version making it very easy to get on and off but still retaining plenty of strength in the frame because of the double tubing.
You will immediately notice the unusual design of the handle bars. The stem is raised allowing an upright sitting position, and are curved back so that you are not stretching out and your lower arms are relaxed.
There is front suspension, with 63 mm of travel, plenty to cushion the effects of a bumpy road. It has 9 gears, plenty when you have the power of a Bosch motor at your finger tips.
The brakes are Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, powerful and secure.
Finally, as with the other non MTB bikes it has Moustache’s own aluminium mudguards, a chain guard, lights that run off the battery and a rack that is equipped to take the Ortlieb QL3 bags that can be taken on and off the bike in one easy action.
