Moustache All Rounder from 2018 – Now reduced.
This was our best selling Moustache bike in 2018 by quite some margin. We liked it so much that as the season came to an end we snapped up a few more enabling us to offer them at a reduced price.
This bike is not only the most versatile offering from Moustache – it is the most versatile e-bike we have come across being truly an all terrain and yet totally practical bike. This has all you could need from an electric bike – a powerful motor (Bosch Perfomanceline) and the largest Bosch battery (the 500 watt hour) cleverly integrated into the frame.
At this price the bikes are excellent value.
Bosch Drive Unit
On this version you get the Bosch Performance Line motor – (on the Xroad1 it is the new Bosch Active Plus). This offers more assistance with upto 275% available in the Turbo mode. As with other Bosch motors, it allows for 4 different levels of assistance and although there are other motors out there we still think that with their expertise Bosch are still the best.
The battery is the Bosch 500 watt hour battery – masses of range – up to about 100 miles depending on the level of assistance that you select. Realistically, using all the levels of assistance, assuming an average weight rider and riding on varying terrain you should expect about 50 miles.
On request we can offer this bike with a 400 watt hour battery (range of around 40 miles with average use) for £150 less.
All Purpose Components
The versatility comes from the great combination of the tyres, the light frame, front suspension, integrated mudguards, rack and lights that run off the battery. The tyres are 2.15 inches across. That’s a bit narrower than standard mountain bike tyres (about 2.35 ins) but nobbly so it will cope well with mud.
The bike is comfortable with a nice Selle Royal Wave ergonomic saddle and the suspension forks are enough to take bumps out of the tracks – or indeed the roads. There is also, for a bit more comfort, a suspension seatpost.
The rack is compatible with child seats and of course a variety of panniers – but especially with the Ortlieb panniers, which with this rack can be put on or removed in one simple movement.
What makes the Moustache bikes stand out is the thought that goes into the detail. They start with a clean slate and no pre conceived assumptions. This means that the end product is unique and designed specifically for a purpose with no compromises. The mudguards for example are Moustache’s own innovation because they were not happy with the off the shelf products that are available. The slightly swept back handle bars are another innovation, which is where the name comes from.
We love the Moustache bikes and if versatility and comfort are what you are looking for at a very reasonable price then this is a great bike for you to consider.
We now have just 3 bikes left – a Small, Medium and Large – see the Spec table for suitability.
The Moustache bikes come with a 5 year warranty on the frame and 2 years on the electrics (motor, battery and display).
