Our Favourite KTM E Bike – Just one remaining in a 46 cm frame (small)
This has been our favourite and best selling bike for the past two years. We now just have one left from our 2018 stock and we have received the new 2019 bikes – see here.
The main difference with the 2019 bike is colour (white) and the battery size – now a 500 wh battery. The price of this one is £2399.
The model pictured is the 2018 bike with the lower step through style cross bar. This is the style of the bike we have left in stock.
Tweaks and Improvements
So as not to mess with a winning formula the bike has only been tweaked since last year. The most significant change is a semi-integrated battery. This gives the bike a sleeker, more aero-dynamic look.
The grips, previously simple round grips have been improved to ergon flat grips with side-handles – very comfortable and a good improvement. The saddle is also more comfortable than previous models.
Aesthetically this bike has always been great in the traditional black and orange livery and this year KTM have managed to make it even better, achieved with the semi-integrated battery, neater cabling and a very stylish saddle.
Bosch Drive System
The bike has the Bosch performance line CX motor. This is the most powerful motor that Bosch do with assistance level of 300% in turbo mode. The Bosch system has 4 levels of assistance – from Eco (50% assistance) up to 300%. The system has been enhanced over the past year by Bosch with the E-MTB level that has replaced sport. This responds to the rider’s needs and will switch seamlessly between Tour and Turbo mode as needed.
The battery is the 400 watt hour battery. This will give you a range of up to about 70/75 miles in Eco mode and even in Turbo will go about 30 miles. A good estimate of the range you should expect using the different levels of assistance and on variable terrain is 40 miles.
The bike comes bare (no mudguards, lights or rack) but if required these can all be added for a little over £100 depending on the lights.
