Dutch Quality at a Great Price – Now Reduced by 15%
If you are looking for some assistance and a great quality bike then the Gazelle Panasonic could be the bike for you.
Gazelle bikes are made in their own factory in Holland and go through a very rigorous testing procedure. The visual effect is stunning and the quality is clear from the outset. On top of that you can rest assured that this is a bike that has been designed and manufactured as a bike meant to last for life.
We have one of these left from our 2018 stock and we have reduced the price to make room for the 2019 bikes – so now available in this size only (49cm) for just £1600.
The motor is the Panasonic front hub motor brushless 250 watt. The Panasonic motor is very quiet to the extent that it is virtually inaudible. With the motor in the front hub it is almost invisible could be mistaken for a dynamo. There is no resistance from the motor when cycling without assistance or free-wheeling. The torque of the motor is 30 nm. These systems are less expensive than the crank drive motors (such as Bosch) but if anything they are more reliable and of course Panasonic is a good quality brand. The assistance is not as much as you could get with a Bosch but if you are looking to still do some work and just have the help there when you need it, then the Panasonic motor will do that for you.
The battery is the gold size (400 watt hours) sufficient to take you upto about 60 miles.
Non Electric Parts
Gazelle make their bikes with 3 main criteria:
- Low maintenance
The bike has an enclosed chain case making it far easier to maintain and of course less mess. It has hub hears, which last much longer than derailleur gears and you can change gear when stationary. It has good LED front and back lights. It also has a Dutch style wheel lock (or cafe lock) very convenient for those quick stops.
To make it comfortable it has a wide saddle with suspension seatpost. The upright position for riding these bikes is about the most relaxed you can be on a bike. It also has front suspension and you can change the position of the handlebars using a patented stem system that operated with the flick of a lever.
The bike is a 49 cm frame. This will suit anyone from about 5’5″ to 5′ 10″.
Gazelle make their bikes to last and therefore it comes with a 10 year warranty on the frame and 2 year warranty on the electric parts.
If you like the Dutch style of cycling (and I challenge you not to) and you want genuine quality then Gazelle is the bike for you.
