A fantastic Dutch style bike from Royal Dutch Gazelle
The Orange C7+ HMB is one of our best selling bikes and certainly our best selling Gazelle. This, as you will have noticed by now, is the cross bar version. We also stock the step through model.
Gazelle bikes are made in Holland and they have been making them now for over 100 years. They are the premium brand in Holland and have the honour of a Royal seal of approval, so in fact their full name is Royal Dutch Gazelle. The Dutch consider their bikes to be more than just a leisure item; it is their primary form of transport and they build them to last with extensive testing carried out during the manufacturing process in their factory in Holland.
The bike has an enclosed chain case making the bike almost maintenance free. It has a bright LED front light and a rear light at the back of the rack, both of which are powered by the battery. The bike is fitted with a Dutch style AXA rear wheel lock or cafe lock. This means if you are just popping to the shop, then you can use this simple lock rather than have to carry about a monster lock. However if you are leaving the bike for more than just a few minutes an additional lock is always advised. A plug-in lock can be added as an option so that the bike can be secured to a stationary object.
The ride is even more comfortable because of the padded saddle and seat suspension post. Of course the comfort is enhanced by the upright position when riding that the Dutch are renowned for. They cannot understand why anyone would want to ride in a hunched position! While the bike zips along at a great pace you just feel that there is no need to hurry, rather just relax and enjoy the riding. The stopping power is ensured by the Magura hydraulic rim brakes that are fitted to a number of the best electric bikes.
The Dutch are rightly proud of their bikes and we are very pleased to have a dealership with their biggest bike company. The bikes are beautifully made for a nation that enjoys its cycling. We really like these brakes; they are at least as good as hydraulic disc brakes and the pads last really well.
Unlike many other brands you can choose the appropriate battery size for your needs. The price includes a 300 watt hour battery. This has a range of upto 65 miles. For an additional £170 you can get the 400 watt hour battery – range up to 90 miles and for £300 the 500 watt hour battery giving upto 112 miles. Bear in mind these ranges are under ideal conditions with a relatively light rider and the bike ridden in eco mode. Remember also that the larger the battery capacity the longer it will last because over time the capacity will reduce.
With the crossbar the bike is only available in 1 colour – black mat / sienna mat (shown). The step through version on the other hand is available in a number of different colours.
Their confidence in the quality of their bikes is backed up by a 10 years warranty on the frames, 5 years on suspension front forks and 2 years on all other components – including the battery and motor.
